part art life part spiritual life here are the mid stages of the journeying rattles we are making. we have used a gluten free paper mache paste recipe due to celiac disease. the paste was used around small ballons that were then popped and it was filled with rice and home grown dried beans (the rice because it was in my pantry and i can't eat it soo bye bye rice.)
recipe as follows:
GF Papermache
1 part cornstarch
ten parts water put in pot heat on medium til it boils 5 minds hold at boil stir and then turn off and let cool
this makes a wicked paste that is better then the traditional paper mache mix in my mind a little slimier but i like slimey...
art and spirituality interweave on many levels and do so with this project.
hoping to help talula find her own spirituality and i myself feel more akin to the more shamanic activities of spiritual folk.
i believe my totem animals are birds of all sorts- it began with an eagle and has led to all of bird kind.
Talula wishes her totem animal to be a unicorn - i am sure we will have others as well, perchance a wolf or a dog.
i am hoping to work on these today and will update accordingly. and then i am sure i will have to work on us taking those journeys to the upper and lower worlds...
or maybe we just need to light a fire and dance round it shaking madly?
i am sure it will come when it is needed.
